Born in White Cross, a small hamlet of Hereford, located in the southwest part of England, Brian grew up with his five brothers and sisters. Brian received his first camera when he was 12 years old. Photography became a part of his life from that point on. Brian immigrated to Canada in 1973, settling in the British Columbia’s Fraser Valley.
Since then, Brian has made an on-going commitment to constantly improve his photographic skills. He has taken many courses, but, it has been through experience that he has developed his unique sense of style. Images created by the Bury studio continue to receive international recognition and acclaim. Brian is nationally accredited in Portraiture, Boudoir and Glamour by the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC). This is Brian's third year as Chairman of the Professional Photographers’ Association of British Columbia (PPABC), Lower Mainland Region. Brian was awarded the title of Entrepreneur of the Year, Business Excellence Awards in 2005 and recently received the George Preston Memorial Business Person Of The Year Award 2007. His images have received many Accolades of Excellence by the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International, and are exhibited provincially by the PPABC and nationally by the PPOC. Brian holds the title of “Distinguished Member of the International Society of Photographers”.
It is Brian’s goal to raise the standard of professional photography. “Professional photography is so much more than picking up a camera and snapping the picture. Expert lighting and composition work together to create a timeless portrait.”
